Everybody can practice this asana!Vajrasana pose it’s an easy posture and is considered as best sitting posture for practicing Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Meditation.
Normally, asanas should be performed on an empty stomach. But, Vajrasana is one of the few exceptions. This asana can be done immediately after the meal. In fact, it is most effective after the meal and aids in proper digestion.
Steps :
Take a kneeling position with knees, ankles and big toes touching the ground.The big toes are not touching, the heels quite separate and let buttocks rest between the heels. Keep the knees close.The trunk,neck and spine in a straight line. Rest both your hands on the knees and keep the elbows straight.Close your eyes, breathe normally.
Practice vajrasana for 5 to 20 minutes after food.You can sit in this posture for a very long time comfortably. Yogis generally sit in this asana.
In the beginning maybe u feel pain on your feet or ankles, but with regular practice u will be dissaper and makes you stronger and healthier.You can put a blanket under the knees,ankle or buttocks,to alleviate the pain.
Restriction
Do not do this asana if you have a knee problem or if you had a recent knee surgery, as it may put additional strain on the knee.
